Love, Love, Love is the soul of genius

I’d like to share a powerful story about Love, Success and Wealth that I heard this morning:

A woman is leaving her house one morning and she encounters 3 wise men with long beards in her driveway.

She meets them and they tell her their names: Loves, Wealth and Success.

They ask if her husband and daughter are around. The woman replies that they aren’t – they’ve alredy left to go to work and to school.

So the wise men tell her that they will wait for them – they want to speak with the whole family.

So later, when the husband and daughter are back home, the woman goes out to invite the wise men inside.

But they tell her that they can only come in one at a time. She must choose which of them can come in.

So the woman goes back inside to consult with her husband and daughter. The husband wants her to invite Success in, but she says she’s rather bring in Wealth.
Then the daughter says that Love must come in… they need more Love in the home. So the parents agree, and decide to bring in Love.

The wife goes outside to call in Love. Love walks in, and closely behind him follow Success and Wealth.

“Hold on,” says the woman. “I thought only one of you could come in at a time”.

Then Love replies: “Yes, that’s true. If you had chosen Success, then just he would have come in. If you had chosen Wealth, then just he would have come in. But when you invited Love, you discovered that wherever Love goes he is followed closely by Wealth and Success”.

This story tells us how when we live by our highest values (what we love), then success and wealth will come to us.

From where you treasure is, there will your heart be also. – Matthew 6:11

Health is the first wealth

Okay, so we know that money isn’t the only form of wealth… But just like money, we can build our wealth in the other ways through good investment strategy.

Health is a form of wealth that we can build and get compound interest on . Every meal is an investment opportunity. I have been building my health bank for a couple of years now.
Each time I excercise, I am making a deposit. Every morning, I jog. I do karate twice a week, and I do weights, pushups, situps and stretches to compliment my running and karate.
Fundamentally, I remember that each meal is an opportunity to invest in my health. I also know that if I do something that’s bad for my health, then I’m making a withdrawal and am missing out on the opportunities that are created by my long term compounding interest of health.

Today I choose to invest wisely. Where’s that glass of water now?

Create Yourself

Thought of the day from my friend Natalie:

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.George Bernard Shaw

This ties in with the movie “The Secret” that I recently watched. The idea is that you aren’t born with some grand purpose on this earth, YOU decide what your purpose is.

My Apartment and lifestyle

Following a talk a went to by Dr John Demartini earlier. This vision is based on the principles he discussed

I see myself in a nice apartment in Cape Town. Probably in or around Oranjezicht, Gardens or Tamboerskloof.

I have DSTV at home.

I have a piano, and am learning to play it beautifully.

I have a nice new car in the garage… like a new citi golf 1.4i or a Toyota Yaris, with a nice sound system, which I link up to my iPod.

My apartment is set up to be awesomely inspiring. I have my goal boards up – with images of what I want to do and have.

I often travel, both for business and for leisure. I go to the spa regularly. I jog and do karate, and I’m working up to the level of fitness to run marathons.

Gratitude journal

Dr John Demartini talked alot about the power of gratitude. And the power of keeping a gratitude journal, or at least thinking about all the stuff that we’re grateful for every day.

What you are grateful for you will get more of.

He reckons he has the longest list of things to be grateful for – because he’s been collecting them for over 30 years!

This is one of the success priniciples also discussed in The Secret .

I’ll start my list now, and will continue hereafter:

I am happy and grateful for:

  • being in Joburg today
  • that I have a nice place to stay
  • that I have a beautiful life in Cape Town too
  • that I have friends in both cities
  • that I’m driving a beautiful rental car
  • that I am working with a great business partner
  • that I have inspirational and excellent friends
  • that I am a positive person
  • that I got into social media, marketing and psychology
  • for my cellphone, laptop, ipod and 3g card
  • that I can take Dad out for a nice day and make him feel loved
  • that I have SO much to be greatful for!
  • that I eat out a restaurants whenever I want

That’s just a start. I’m finding the gratitude thing reeally easy from where I am in my life!

The way to win and be positive is to live with an attitude of gratitude

The Secret to great marketing

I went to watch the Secret tonight with my friend CC.

The secret is: The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about.  Your dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest.

Ok, so analysing this from the perspective of a spiritual marketer:

From the Marketer’s perspective, obviously we should keep focussed on the end result: what is it that we want the outcome of our campaign to be. Don’t worry about the “How”, just see the vision faithfully in your minds’ eye.

Then the other approach is to ensure that your product or service enters into the consciousness of your target market. What the think about constantly they will manifest into their reality.

On a personal note, I’d like to state that in marketing myself this principle holds true – the more popular I become, and the more people that hear about my name, the more I enter their daily thoughts, the more they attract me into their lives.  I use my other blog to do this – the marketing term for this is “staying top of mind”.

We need to give the customer something to believe in.

“Knowledge is limited, but imagination encircles the world” – Einstein.

Waking up early works for me!

Getting an early start is awesome. I really enjoy the early morning in Summer.

I wake up at 5:30 am, meditate, have some juice, and then I hit the road for a jog.

By the time 7am comes, I’ve jogged, meditated, washed and changed, eaten breakfast and am ready to pop off a blog post.

Waking up early is one of my success priniciples.

Halo effect of health and fitness

My friend Craig reminded me that when your fitness and health is good, then it has a halo effect on the other aspects of your life such as work and relationships.

I have experienced this to be true. It is, indeed, one of the most important factors of success.

I went for my second jog this morning and I’m really enjoying the feeling already.

“Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must see through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is clouded”.  – Johan Wolfgang Von Goethe

Jogging

I had my first jog in weeks this morning.

I’m taking up jogging (as opposed to just gym) for the following reasons:

  • It’s a great opportunity to spend time outdoors this summer
  • I enjoy listening to podcasts as I jog – so the time fulfills a double purpose.
  • I’m a goal-oriented person, and jogging allows me work towards goals such as  “run the Knysna Marathon in 2007”

Wish me luck!

I’m going to be jogging every day except Sunday. First thing in the morning.

Can’t wait! I love feeling fit!

First major media interview

I just finished an interview with Entrepreneur Magazine.

I’m really happy about that. For me, it’s a sign that I’m on the right business track and that I am leading an exciting field.

The article will probably be good for business too:-)
