Love, Love, Love is the soul of genius
I’d like to share a powerful story about Love, Success and Wealth that I heard this morning:
A woman is leaving her house one morning and she encounters 3 wise men with long beards in her driveway.
She meets them and they tell her their names: Loves, Wealth and Success.
They ask if her husband and daughter are around. The woman replies that they aren’t – they’ve alredy left to go to work and to school.
So the wise men tell her that they will wait for them – they want to speak with the whole family.
So later, when the husband and daughter are back home, the woman goes out to invite the wise men inside.
But they tell her that they can only come in one at a time. She must choose which of them can come in.
So the woman goes back inside to consult with her husband and daughter. The husband wants her to invite Success in, but she says she’s rather bring in Wealth.
Then the daughter says that Love must come in… they need more Love in the home. So the parents agree, and decide to bring in Love.
The wife goes outside to call in Love. Love walks in, and closely behind him follow Success and Wealth.
“Hold on,” says the woman. “I thought only one of you could come in at a time”.
Then Love replies: “Yes, that’s true. If you had chosen Success, then just he would have come in. If you had chosen Wealth, then just he would have come in. But when you invited Love, you discovered that wherever Love goes he is followed closely by Wealth and Success”.
This story tells us how when we live by our highest values (what we love), then success and wealth will come to us.
From where you treasure is, there will your heart be also. – Matthew 6:11
Health is the first wealth
Okay, so we know that money isn’t the only form of wealth… But just like money, we can build our wealth in the other ways through good investment strategy.
Health is a form of wealth that we can build and get compound interest on . Every meal is an investment opportunity. I have been building my health bank for a couple of years now.
Each time I excercise, I am making a deposit. Every morning, I jog. I do karate twice a week, and I do weights, pushups, situps and stretches to compliment my running and karate.
Fundamentally, I remember that each meal is an opportunity to invest in my health. I also know that if I do something that’s bad for my health, then I’m making a withdrawal and am missing out on the opportunities that are created by my long term compounding interest of health.
Today I choose to invest wisely. Where’s that glass of water now?
